European Spec 1984 Mercedes 280sl. Finished in Black over Palomino MB Tex. Starts, Runs, and drives very nicely! The body is solid. The black paint is original and in good over all condition. The interior is in great condition with brand new upholstery on the seats. The original carpet, door cards, and walnut burl are all in great condition. A brand new canvas top was just installed. Being a European model, this 280sl has the much more attractive "slim" euro bumpers. These drastically improve the lines of the car, making it appear as Mercedes originally intended. The fuel injected strait six cylinder engine starts quickly and easily. The strait six is peppy, but provides better fuel economy than the eight cylinder SL models. The lighter weight of six cylinder also allows for more spirited handling. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The automatic climate control works well, providing plenty of heat for those crisp fall top-down drives. The stock Becker radio and Hirschmann power antenna work well. The factory hard top is included and is in great condition. These cars are fantastic cruisers for both road trips and errands around town.
