Lovely 1952 Bentley Mk VI Saloon Car. A true pleasure to drive, these cars represent the best England had to offer. Imported to the US in the mid-1970's, this example is a fifteen or so year old restoration that has aged well. Being a late production example (Chassis number B-252-PV) this car features the larger 4.6 liter strait six motor. The power rating of said engine was rated as "adequate." This is in keeping with the tradition of not specifying actual horsepower. Being a right had drive example, this model also features the right-hand floor shifter for the 4 speed transmission.
The car and drives quite well. It starts readily and settles into a very smooth, quiet idle. The transmission shifts easily and the clutch feels strong. The brakes feel very good. Steering effort is light and the car handles well. This was the first Bentley designed to be driven by it's owner, rather than a chauffeur.
The interior is a lovely place to be. The red leather upholstery is in excellent condition, while the large sunroof allows the sun to highlight the beautiful burl wood dashboard. All Instruments function as they should with the exception of the gas gauge. (The oil level setting does work) All the lights work, including the driving lights and center-mounted headlight.
Included with the car is the original tool kit, service manual, and owner's manual. Service records dating back to 2006, as well as copies of the build sheet and order sheet are present as well.
