For Sale or Trade Finished in original factory colors called Monte Carlo Red with an Ermine White top. Powered by a V8 motor mated to a 2-speed Fordomatic transmission. The Ford Galaxie was the top of the line full-sized cars from 1958 until 1961, in a marketing attempt to appeal to the excitement surrounding the Space Race. If you look at the trunk, you'll see the chrome dealer badge still attached. This car was sold at Fred Jones Ford dealership in Oklahoma City. Fred Jones, an industrialist and civic leader was the largest Ford dealer in the U.S. during the 1950s. His 10 successful Ford dealerships across Oklahoma won him the affection of Henry Ford. Jones once made headlines in 1934 by telling Henry, “You make 'em, Henry, and I'll sell 'em."
