1965 International Scout 80 For Sale or Trade Just arrived. One family ownership since new. Recently restored with fresh paint. Mechanically sound and great driver. Removable hardtop for top down convertible driving fun. The Scout was used the family as a recreational vehicle. Recently refinished in the original Aspen Green metallic paint with white trim. The interior is the same Aspen Green. Tasteful custom wood racks are used for the flooring and for the dual bench seat tops. Equipped with International Powr-Lok Differential, which gives power to both rear wheels. Heater installed. Spare tire rack mounted on rear tail gate. Radio delete. International Harvester introduced the Scout an off-road vehicle in 1961 and produced the popular small truck through 1980. A precursor of more sophisticated SUVs to come, it was created as a competitor to the Jeep, and it initially featured a fold-down windshield. The Scout and second generation Scout II were produced in Fort Wayne, Indiana as two-door trucks with options of a half cab pickup or removable hard or soft top. Scout 80s were built between 1960 and 1965. These models were identifiable by a fold-down windshield, vacuum windshield wipers mounted to the top of the windshield and an IH logo in the center of the grille. The Scout 80 had the gasoline-powered 152 four-cylinder as its standard engine
