Exterior saw paint professionally stripped to bare metal (no bondo) and meticuosly repsprayed in the original maroon color. Two owners since new, with all receipts from original sale.
Maintenance includes: replacing compressed piston rings . Installed racing camp and proper triple SU cars, maximizing robust performance. Twin Stromberg carbs, originally fitted to meet US import requirements, come with this 66,000 mile vehicle which runs flawlessly. Its strong motor is considered by most enthusiasts to be Jauguar's best, a time-tested straight-6 workshoerse. Automatic transmision shifts smoothly, rack and pinion steering is tight and precise, and suspension is excellent. New battery, upgraded electronic fuel pump , recentl leather headrest and armrest, recent correct wook carpeting and grey headliner and sunvisors. Original upholstery on door and kick panels, dash and luggage area--all in great condition. Leather seats are age cracked and though serviceable will need recovering.
Rear seats fold forward to stow, enlarging luggage capacity. Consistent with the vehicles originality,upgrades were made discreetly by installing stereo AM/FM cassette with suplemental rear spearkers, improved manual choke controlling triple SU carbs, and daytime running lights tucked into front "mouth". Included are owners and shop manual, as well as original tool puch with jack and knock-off mallet for wirewheels, tow of which would benefit from re-crhoming. Car holds a deep shine and is dent and blemish free, except for one very small patch of bubbles on the lower section of driver's door. Proper stainless exhaust pipes. Chrome is original and in good condition for its age. Glass is original; windshield gasket is age-cracked though fully functional. All components work as new, except for electric clock.
This Jaguar E-type 2+2 out-performs later 12-cylinder models and is of investment quality. It is a driver; not a trailer queen. Turnkey car ready for miles of smile. Zoom, zoom....
