Very appealing 1950 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 Futuramic sedan finished in an attractive Adler green with silver/gray interior and red rims on the tires. Exceptionally strong paint. Not concours level, but above average driver quality with no issues. Beautiful minty fresh re-chromed bumpers and outstanding original chrome and trim elsewhere (except some light pitting and wear on the all-original vent windows). Featured the famous Olds Hydramatic automatic transmission paired with the powerful Oldsmobile Rocket engine under the hood. The car is equipped as original with a newer 6 volt battery. To give the driver the option of faster starting power, the previous owner cleverly added a hidden 12 volt battery under the front hood in a tidy compartment easily accessed via a door panel. The 12 volt option can be used as needed, though we've never had any problem cranking it over with the 6 volt starter. There's an optional after-market 12 volt starter mounted under the dash. Previously owned by one of America's premier race car drivers, Lou Sattelmaier who raced 12,000 HP jet funny cars throughout the USA and Canada. Interior was re-done professionally in an attractive silver/gray period style finish. New black carpet. No kick panels currently installed, though our Motorland upholstery specialists could make some up easily to your specifications. Dash is all original showing some signs of wear but no damage or major issues. Headliner is good with no rips or tears, but some stains, including under the visors. Drivers side door lock not working. NADA Blue Book high retail value for this car, equipped with the optional hydramatic transmission, is over $31,000, so this car is very well priced with lots of upside potential too.
